You will find less crowds and still your favorite Napa Valley fun. Take a look at what you can expect during September in Napa Valley:
Early Harvest Season in Napa Valley
When you visit Napa Valley during the month of September, you will find fewer crowds and mild weather that makes time outside more enjoyable. The cooler weather that comes in for the end of summer signals the start of early harvest season. During your September visit, you will be able to see the start of the winemaking process at the local wineries. This typically runs from late August through October, when the grapes are foraged and collected. You will have a front row view for this unique process that helps make your favorite adult beverage.
Less Crowds at the Wineries
Seeing the start of the harvest season is just part of the fun at the local wineries in the month of September. Your September visit will allow you to enjoy the local wineries without giant crowds around you. When you visit the local wineries, you have the chance to talk it up with the winemakers themselves or take a guided tour of the facility and vineyards. Finding these opportunities are few and far between in the middle of the summer. Some of our favorite wineries that highlight a casual atmosphere include Frog’s Leap Winery that features organic farming and Artesa Vineyards & Winery that has sweeping views of the area. You may even have the chance to see the wineries crush and stomp the grapes to start the winemaking process!
Hot Air Balloon Rides
It can get a little hot during the middle of the summer season, but by September the temps have finally started to cool. One great activity during this time is a hot air balloon ride that lets you enjoy a calm and cool morning high up in the sky. You will be able to get incredible views of the vineyards and more. Alston Park is a quieter spot to enjoy the serenity of the views. Since the month of September is often quieter around the city, you will easily be able to bike between the different wineries.
